Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center

TN River Rescue + Privet Pull

October 6th, 2018
400 Garden Road

Help Reflection Riding celebrate the 30th year of the Tennessee River Rescue by cleaning the Lookout Creek zone on canoes! Volunteers will use grabbers to remove plastic bottles, metal scraps, and other trash from the embankments. We have 8 canoes for volunteers to use, though every year, they fill up quickly. So instead of turning people away, we added a privet pulling shift for any overflow volunteers. Though it's not strictly water-quality related, removing invasive exotic plants (and putting natives in their place) helps protect biodiversity and create habitat for native pollinators and other animals. Our Invasive Species Expert Byron Brooks will be on-site to educate and work with our land-dwelling volunteers.

There are no shifts available at this time.
