Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center

Plant Sale & Earth Day Festival 2019

April 18th - 20th, 2019
400 Garden Road

Thank you for signing up to volunteer for the Spring Native Plant Sale, 24-Hour Bioblitz, and Earth Day Festival! We're excited to be hosting another celebration of the natural world, and we can't do it without volunteer support. We've decided to go back to having volunteers register for specific jobs; if your preferred post is unavailable, please consider signing up for another position instead.

We'll be scheduling a few orientation sessions prior to the festival and plant sale. They won't be mandatory for volunteers, but they'll come with some fun perks and will offer volunteers a chance to learn their positions before arriving for the festival and to get a sneak peek of the festivities.

For reference, here are the jobs we're recruiting for and a brief description:
Parking - help cars park neatly on the field, greet and direct guests
Welcome/Flyers - greet guests, answer questions, assist with fundraising efforts
Plant Counting - tally the cost of plants and send customers to final checkout
Plant Loading - carry flats and wagons of plants to cars and thank guests for coming
Plant Selection - a skilled position only! please only sign up for this spot if you have checked in with Martha or John
Clean Up - help pack up the fun and thank guests for their support
Plant Valet - like a coat check for plants! during the Earth Day Festival only
Bioblitz Photography - we need volunteers with nice cameras to take photos of the wildlife scientists find
Bioblitz Classification - volunteers can help scientists record found species and classify them

When you show up to volunteer, please be sure to wear weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes, and bring a reusable water bottle to fill up throughout your shift.

There are no shifts available at this time.
